A descending UP manifest, displaying a nice mix of GE & EMD power, is going in the hole at the south end of Woodford siding to allow one southbound.

I was fortunate to catch this westbound train descending the pass before heading back to the Bay Area. The evening light at several spots, including Bena as seen here, was fantastic.

After pulling uphill for over 50 miles, the ZBRLC is now descending the 18 miles into Mojave at MP 366.5, just south (SP east) of Monolith.

I caught my last train before sunset on April 11th just south (east) of the Marcel Siding. Highway 58 is in the background, dropping down the canyon formed by Tehachapi Creek.

The view of Woodford Siding and the Tehachapi Mountains from above Keene is fantastic.

Now back on home rails, this BNSF coil steel train is cutting through the heat of the desert floor as it accelerates out of Mojave for Barstow.
