L&N heritage unit.
CSX 1850 the Louisville & Nashville heritage unit sits in the Etowah, Tennessee yard for an upcoming event for the Louisville & Nashville Historical Society members.
Fall colors are beginning to show as a wine tasting special heads east across this beautiful stretch of ex-L&N rails.

Very early in the era of the Seaboard System an ex-L&N unit leads a great assortment of movie power on a mine run heading back toward Hazard. Somebody forgot to obliterate the "L&N".

Originally TC, this unit was switching. At times it was a slug mom but on this date the unit was teamed with a C420. I wish now we had shot some of those US Steel hoppers.
In the latter years a butthead was hard to find (not as hard as an SD38-2!). I was glad to see this over ever near sundown.
What a great tpwn in the times before mergers.
