A nice clear cold early spring morning and steaming taconite pellets head for Two Harbors on the CN Iron Range sub.

The thick early morning fog still lingers on this cold morning as a Minntac ID rolls south through the yard at Biwabik with steaming pellets still creating a neat rolling fog bank.

Cold, crisp and clear beats hot, humid and hazy any day. CN 2041 leads taconite loads south through Allen Jct. on a nice day.

Southbound CN 2041 splits the signals at Noimi Jct. on the Minntac sub with 116 cars of pellets and 29 empties trailing. "We emptied them of pellets on the west side".

Navigating the S-curve CN 2041 north is taking the turn on what was the former DM&N, then DM&IR and now the CN Iron Range Sub passing by the grade of the former D&IR which was abandoned in 1972.
