Just minutes out of Penn Station on its way to Washington, a set of Amtrak Metroliners glides through the PATH station at Harrison, NJ, approaching the Newark stop.

Conrail trailers roll north and an Amtrak Metroliner speeds south through North Elizabeth, NJ, as a thunderstorm approaches. Lead car 867 had yet to receive Amtrak's bright colors.

Note the forward pantograph is raised with the train underway, which is atypical for GG-1s. The location was not specified. A Walter Schopp original Kodachrome slide from my collection.
