On a frigid November 30, 2004, Amtrak train 6, the eastbound California Zephyr, reflects the warm light of a setting sun as it marches across the desert approaching Mounds, Utah.

Lots of picture potential out in the east desert. The problem is finding trains to do it with. If your lucky you might see 3 to 4 train go a across these rail during daylight hours.

Did a little climbing, and shot a picture I have never shot before. Number 6 is in the Tucker section of the canyon by the Tie Fork rest stop.

Getting the day started off with Amtrak number 6. The train was running 2 1/2 hours late this morning. So I was able to get some shots that aren't usually possible.

I don't get the chance to to catch Amtrak #5 very often. On Friday one day from the longest day of the year, and he was on time, I was able to pull it off.

I was able to catch Amtrak heritage unit 130 today, for the first time. The westbound Zephyr was 18 hours late. Allowing photo locations that generally are passed in the middle of the night.
