Steaming up out of Lake Louise westbound on the original mainline, now the south track used by eastbounds, 2816 puts out a cloud of steam taking a run at the 1.8% east slope of Kicking Horse Pass

Morant's Curve. I finally got one on the sunny side :-)

CP 9782 leads three other locos as it traverses Morants Curve with an eastbound freight on 22nd March 2010. There were fresh grizzly bear tracks in the snow on the opposite river bank.

A raven, sitting on top of the signal, voices its warning to the approaching train. The nest was right above where I was standing.

The rear end helper on 671 shoves up, while further up the line the head end pulls like mad to get the loaded potash train up the hill. It's not often everything lines up like this!
