Typical transfer power for the 70's

Southbound steel train bound for Granite City IL has topped Lawndale Hill.

1 week before the UP took over we shot the SP action on the Golden State Route. We played hell trying to catch this stacker who was rolling along at 70 mph.

Minntac MN to Geneva UT ore train rolls through Joliet IL with units 355, 122, and 329 in charge.

During the early 90's the SP was quite colorful with begged and borrowed power. Witness this scene at Joliet with a set of rare C39-8's on CHPBM (Chicago-Pine Bluff Manifest).

Taken from the EJ&E bridge this westbound lashup was a surprise on the BN's racetrack.

After exchanging train crews on the SP at Jackson St. this EJ&E crew will forward this empty ore train to the WC at Leighton IL. Today the WC and EJ&E are folded into CN's camp.
