As passengers detrain, the canoes are unloaded out of the open car, the Moose River. On the return trip from Otter Lake canoers board for a one way trip back to Thendara.

Ex-NYC RS-3 #8223 sits with the Thendara-Otter Lake consist at the beautifully decorated Thendar station, complete with semaphore.

ADIX 8223 sits next to the beautiful Thendara station in the Adirondacks. I took a few photos while discussing our chase plans with the extremely friendly crew of the Adirondack Scenic.

The 2Pm excursion from Lake Placid crosses Rte 3 as well as the intersection of Margaret, Depot, and Marshall Street only yards away from the station at Saranac Lake.

An overview of the Lake Placid "yard". The trailers to the right are used by some of the Adirondack Scenic employees who do not travel back and forth from home every night.

Engineer and operations manager, Bill Borkowski focuses on the tracks ahead of him. The cord in the middle of the photo is for a whistle that is used in the towns instead of the horn.

In a sea of green, the excursion hits a crossing deep int eh Adirondack Mountains. Note that there is no road by the crossbucks. The crossing is for a hiking trail.

The 10AM excursion to Carter Station is seen over Route 28 returning to the Thendara station.

ADIX 8223 retains its original NYC number and sits at the Thendara station in an NYC livery.
