Trailing some rather unusual deadhead power the northbound merchandise train departs at the north end of town.

Another long train of empties begin their northbound trip back to the mines.

SB grain train holding the main but in no hurry to get to the yard. As in many cases we were unsure as to why they left them out here. The yard appeared to have lots of tracks empty etc.

CSX C40-8 #7375 and SD70MAC #4818 head a general manifest train at Erwin yard. After a quick crew change, the train throttles up for it's trip across the Blue Ridge Subdivision.

Black with the original headlight I noticed. The gray is trying to get out as the black flakes off. Note the added vents on the hood ala ATSF and no MU.

These units are heading for being brought into the terminal by the crew. Dig that hat. Maybe someone out there can identify the gentleman.
