As the village of Pettisville comes to life for Friday the 13th, eastbound 18M briefly breaks the small-town silence with an SD60 leading the charge.

What year is it? NS 18M's new leader, NS 7068 runs light west on the main while a pair of GP38-2 high hoods pull an eastbound NS V34 out of the yard.

A vintage Southern GP50 high hood makes it's way up the mainline west through Bluefield. The light engine will soon couple onto NS 18M and continue east to Roanoke.

The old N&W coaling tower still stands after many years of service on the N&W, as a mostly tanker 18M rolls uphill underneath the old relic.

18M pours on the power to get the train over the grade into Bluefield Yard. Another train conquers the tough Pokey grade between Williamson and Bluefield.

Plenty of power for the 18M today. No pushers will be needed today.
