WC GP40's could still be found working there old haunts during the summer of 2008. At Algoma Junction 3012,3010 and CN 5714 are Sault Ste. Marie bound with train A411.

WC 584,587 work #38 with 20 cars of mainly forest products. SDL39's were common in the Upper Peninsula during the entire WC era.
