Heading back from the Minorca mine to their yard at Kelly Lake, BNSF 2571 rumbles across the old steel bridge on the CN Keenan Sub.

A nice summer afternoon and a train.

A little later than normal allowed the sun to swing enough onto the nose as the once-a-week Kelly Lake local job passes a still in use old searchlight signal on the CN Keenan Sub.

Parked temporarily at CN's Keenan Yard, this all-rail will eventually load taconite pellets at the U.S. Steel Minntac plant before heading south.

Coming over from their yard at Kelly Lake, BNSF takes the old searchlight signal for CN's Keenan yard as they proceed on the once a week trip up to the Minorca taconite plant with bentonite loads.

Running track speed and wasting no time BNSF 8538 rolls across Highway 5 east of Hibbing, MN as the run back down to Allouez, WI is underway with taconite pellet loads from the U.S. Steel Keewatin... (more)
