Southbound crude ore loads cruise past m.p. 65 on the CN Missabe Sub

A frost covered afternoon with a train ready to shove back under the coarse crusher to load crude ore at United Taconite's Thunderbird mine.

The engineer has the window open to enjoy more of the nice fall afternoon as he brings the train down the CN Missabe Sub with crude ore for the United Taconite plant.

As the other T-Bird waits in the distance, the engineer starts ramping up speed as they pull away from Largo with crude ore from United Taconite.

Bringing loads into the United Taconite plant from the mine, CN 3303 makes the turn off the CN Missabe Sub, calling mine personal to say they are crossing Highway 7 and are arriving shortly.

At the end of the daylight but the start of their shift, U730 departs Fairlane for Largo to reload.

A couple big GEs with 91 cars roll down the Missabe Sub at Fairlane and are about to take the turn into the United Taconite plant with these loads.
