The beginning of the line for 85 cars of quartzite aggregate & rip-rap. Glad the state of South Dakota had the foresight to purchase this line out of the Milwaukee Road bankruptcy.
An old grain elevator, an MOW track cart, jointed rail with some spare sticks alongside. I imagine not much has changed since the Milwaukee Road bankruptcy other than the locomotive paint.
Who says South Dakota doesn't have scenery or cool railroads?
