Morning light begins to bathe the trees as train 300 heads east along the banks of the Bow River in Calgary.
Eastbound Grain empties work on splitting their train in the yard at Field, BC, with freshly painted KCS 4805, sporting the new CPKC paint scheme as leader.
CP 9838 leads an empty grain train east through Bearspaw. This locomotive is 20 years old and could use a new coat of paint. Thankfully, the afternoon sky is providing a beautiful contrast.
KCS 4856 leads train 300 east through Edworthy Park in Calgary. This is the first time since the CP/KCS merger that I have personally seen 2 KCS locomotives in the lead.
