A tired looking tunnel motor and mates lug a long train of lumber empties up the Modoc Line toward Oregon.
At sunset, a rainbow of power climbs the 1.0 percent at Shawmut with an eastbound UP stack train. In the background are the rugged and snake-filled Maricopa Mountains.
Late in the day, an SP SD45T-2 leads an eastbound UP stack train from the ICTF up the constant 1.0 percent grade at Shawmut.
