Ancient electrics 6716 and 6723 leave Laval Links station with the 16.40 service from Montreal to Deux-Montagnes.
CN 6716 leads a commuter train thru East Junction in May of 1986. These are my favorite electric locomotives and would last almost 10 more years before they were retired.
2 styles of vintage CN electrics are contrasted, as the 6716 rushes by on the main at Val Royal, with the 6711 waiting on the loop track to follow.
After over 70 years of service the end is days away for these engines. These engines were built by English Electric and Beyer Peacock for the National Harbors Board Railway who traded them to CN. ... (more)
