Smoking it up a bit coming up the hill.

After a half hour wait. They have finished their switching, and are heading for the smelter.

Bringing a big train up the hill. Just guessing on my part, but I would say about 70 cars.

I really like the colors of the three lease companies together, that work for Railserve, on the Kennecott Copper. They are bring down a load of sulfuric acid down from the smelter.

What a beautiful sound. A GP9 and a GP15 working a train up the hill. Kind of blows my mind when I find a 65 year old locomotive still work for real, day in and day out.

A quick sucker hole of light, through the clouds allowed me to get a shot, before the clouds packed in again.

About to go under the underpass at Smelter Junction.

When your engineer is a fellow railfan. You get a musical performance on the horn, and a giant wave and smile. GMTX 2330 and RSSX 1633 head up the hill with a load of box cars.

Railserve GP7U 1337, and SSRX GP38-2 3670 are shoving a big train into Garfield yard. The cars will be picked up by Union Pacific.
