On the way back to Alamosa after a trip to Monte Vista, #1744 crosses a small trestle. The SL&RG ran a series of trips from Alamosa To Monte Vista as part of the rodeo being held last weekend.
The San Luis & Rio Grande have been advertising a train operating between Alamosa and Antonito to provide a connection with the narrow gauge Cumbres and Toltec. This is that train.
