Old vs new as this 1941 built steam locomotive passes the new Max extension to Milwaukee

After the run to Tigard, Doyle's RSD-5 moves around the recently donated Cheyenne steam shop switcher, UPP 96 and the steam generator car "Little Boy" to make room for 4449.

It was one for the books as SP 4449 ran to Tigard via Milwaukee on the UP and Portland & Western. The run was for the Tigard Yard commemoration and had some important people from Genesee & Wyoming... (more)

In honor of my 700th upload, i wanted to put a roster shot a got a couple weeks back of this old Santa Fe pink bonnet. Not as eye catching as at one point, but still pretty cool to see.

This former SP SD45 carbody looks pretty magical as it rolls past the little community off Roy Road in the Tualatin Valley.

Once common on these coal haulers, an H2 MAC leads a loaded train into Vancouver. Most likely this locomotive came out of storage recently.

The Harbor Turn rolls over Holcomb Creek Trestle with the usual pair for former SP SD45 carbodys on point.

The Harbor Turn returns from Harbor Siding and enters the open fields of the Tualitin Valley.

Logs on Logs as the Harbor Turn rolls over the Holcomb Creek road. This train usually passes over this bridge and back in the night making a pretty rare day run due to track work.

Portland & Westerns "Harbor Turn" rolls up downtown Hillsboro. This run is usually nocturnal, so it's pretty cool seeing a predominately log train run the route in the day.

On 4/20 2017, former CNW 8804 rests between showers at Lake Yard in NW Portland.

With a load of steel and excavators, BNSF 1562 switches out Greene Transfer & Storage in N Portland.
