After an early morning departure from Durango, the sun has finally cleared the mountains as the Rio Grande K-28 digs in for the climb into the Animas River canyon and on toward Silverton.
The Rio Grande's regular passenger train to Silverton has just crossed the Tefft Bridge and is now hugging the north back of the Animas River on this crystal clear fall day.
