NW T-6 #26 in action at Lambert's Point VA 29NOV84
N&W C-630 #139 at Lambert's Point yard.
N&W T-6 #30 at Lambert's Point engine facility
The T-6's had remarkable pulling/pushing power. N&W would string them together at Lambert's Point and turn them loose on heavy cuts of coal.
OK N&W fans, is this a late U28B or a U30B? I need a N&W roster ca 1980. Anyone got one I can have?
Alco RS-11's were plentiful at Lambert's Point in the late '70's and early '80's.
I worked for SCL in those days and our Alcos were gone so I'd head for Norfolk just to marvel at these beasts. EPA? What EPA? I noticed that there weren't any mosquitos in the area....
The stripes give away this RS-11's Nickel Plate heritige.
This N&W RSD-12 shows it's Nickel Plate ancestry.
Norfolk,VA in 1980 was "Alco Heaven" on the N&W. Here's the 1138 smoking it up as it shoves steam coal at Lambert's Point.
