To prepare for the Kwun Tong Line Extension, MTR made further orders for C-Train. There were seven sets of new trains entered service in 2013.
In 2011, MTR introduced 15 sets of new trains for the urban lines. Built by CNR Changchun in China, these trains operate on the Kwun Tong Line to expand the fleet.
