CSX B702 heads down the mountain after switching ISP in Blue Ridge Summit.

From atop the mountain B702 can be seen heading through Smithsburg, MD en route to deliver cars to the Maryland Midland and service the ISP facility in Blue Ridge Summit.

B702 wanders west back to Hagerstown.

Snow continues to obscure the valley below while D797 climbs the grade toward Blue Ridge Summit as they approach the Leathers Rd. crossing.

During intense snowfall the D797 storms up the mountain with a fairly long train, just prior to dusk as a fog was beginning to develop.

Nice to see a clean SD40-2 lead the D797 through apple orchard country.

The 702 heads back from Highfield light. He will then switch MD Metals. This apple country makes a majestic setting for the train.
