A westbound UP passenger special roars into a lava flow cut just east of Minidoka, Idaho. I have no idea what the special was, but was suprised to see that two SD40-2s drew the assignment.
A westbound UP junk train accelerates out of the sag at Minidoka, Idaho. The rails to the right are the interchange track with the Eastern Idaho Railroad.
Passing through miles of now harvested potato fields, this special heads west for Portland.
