BNSF 1120 Heritage 1 paint scheme, leads eastbound on the west end of Abo Canyon. Heritage one is my favorite BNSF paint scheme, Goat Boat.

Back in the early days of the BNSF. When you could still get into Abo Canyon, before the double track. I don't remember how the bridge ordination works. I thing this is either bridge 3, 5, or 6.

4830 leads classmate 4785 and GP50 3130.

Trailing units are SD45 5385, B23-7 6401 and SD40-2 BN 8092.

A westbound 90-car Santa Fe manifest passes through Abo Canyon, New Mexico at Bridge 4.

Our longest hike into Abo Canyon included the opportunity to deal with several rain showers. Here a westbound Santa Fe 45-car manifest passes through one of them.
