Have always liked the steam locomotives which were smaller, or earlier; haven't got a scientific definition for why they are appealing, I just enjoy that they are.

Very rare to see a saddle tanker so modern, the piston valves are the big indicator. This would make a great locomotive for a small museum line. It’s bi-directional and relatively heavy o could pull more than most tankers. I would love to have a model of this engine to run on my layout switching industries and doing local work.. A wye or turntable takes up a tremendous amount of space and turntables are horribly unreliable.

Is the 35,000 lbs of tractive effort with the water tanks filled or empty? One of the drawbacks with saddle tanks after all was that they lost adhesion as the water was used up.
