Per UtahRails: "UP 6337 was fitted with safety rails along the top of the unit, which served as attachment points for mechanics working on top of the locomotive; the safety rails had been removed by the time a photo of UP 6337 was taken prior to being renumbered to UP 2492 in 2002. C40-8 9141 was also fitted with similar safety rails."
