Nice up-close photo of a Pyle National Company classification lamp. While serving a useful purpose, these lamps certainly give the locomotive a nice look. When the classification lamp is set to white, it indicates a 'special' or 'extra'. When the lamp is set to indicate green, it indicates a 'regular' train. The lever on the right side middle of the lamp (shown angled down) controls the lens inside the lamp. Changing the lever position is how the classification lamp is changed from white to green. The classification lamp ON/OFF switch is directly below the bottom of the white lens (vertical line is the metal switch barely visible in the photo).
