Appears to have been near M/p 24 on BNSF Montana Division’s Copper City subdivision, w/in a mile (1.6+kM) E/b from (SSW-of) “Warm Springs” on the former MU/NP/BN Butte - Garrison main. That “Grinstein green MAC” became one-of the twenty-one SD-70MACe rebuilds on 01-Dec-2016, while the usual three-year’s newer SD-70MAC trailing was typical of the “captive” power on that then-isolated segment o’the BNSF. Weather conditions described are typical around the fall equinox (e.g.: late Sept. through mid-Oct.) in that part o’the world.
