Nice contemporary telephoto off E Johnson Rd. there, even if that W/b only had an ES-44DC/C44-9W set for lead power (presume there was a dpu @ rear). That former AT&SF crossing has 30 deck-girder spans on steel towers for 2,615 ft. (797+m) on NE its approach, followed-by a trio of deck-trusses for 205 ft. (62.5-m) off the N (Lt.) bank, then that next trio of those massive Pennsylvania through-truss spans for 1,200 ft. (365.75+m) over the “Mighty Mo” (both trios rest on cut-stone piers), followed-by another set of three deck-girders on steel towers for 205 ft. (62.5-m) of the near (SW) approach, Structure’s total length is just-over 3/4 mi.(1.225 kM), and @ 777 ft. (237-m) el., has a normal minimum of 75 ft. (23-m) clearance above ordinary high-water level, and thus avoids the need of a draw or swing-span for commercial navigation. Thanks for including M/p (426, distance from Chicago Union Sta.) on Chicago Division’s Marceline subdivision in lower-Lt. portion of image, also.

Not single track for long, a second span will soon be constructed here. Long overdue.
