Nice! Can anyone provide information on how many SD70s work on Metra and if more will be put in service? I was told trackside by a fan that they are limited to certain Metra lines due to weight restrictions on some bridges. If that is true, are these old bridges inside the city of Chicago? Metra SD70s run on lines out in the suburbs that are also shared by heavy UP freights and locos.

Ther are currently 24 SD70MACH's working for Metra. The C&NW North and Northwest lines have (had?) a number of light bridges that restricted heavier power back to the steam era. The West line had its bridges strengthened to handle the H-class 4-8-4's.
