Dad was in the USN for 28 years and was not a railroad fan until several years after retirement he was looking for something to do when he wasn't up to doing flight simulators and decided to buy a copy of Trainz Railroad Simulator. He eventually bought an HO scale GP15 (I think it was the GP15 and not the MP15 but could have that wrong) to bring and run at model train club when they came to visit me. And one day almost 2 decades ago now he went with me to Kansas City to do some railfanning and in a business parking lot alongside the BNSF yard ended up talking for a hour to a young BNSF security guy who was one of a pair in a company truck who'd come to see what we were about and turned out he was interested in joining the Navy. Think Dad was wearing one of his Navy Veteran ballcaps. And in a sort of turnabout, I was not interested in computer stuff until Dad gave me a copy of Trainz after my health crashed bigtime a couple years after that.

FSWood, as a Trainz aficionado who married into a Navy family, I really appreciated your comment. And Jason, nice photo. Anchors Aweigh!

Well, hey, thanks maxwerks! Though not featured here, the FP45 and F45 cowl body locomotives are some of my favorites because they look good and because their angled nose brings to mind a ship bow like the ships Dad was on.
