Never a Santa Fe unit. Was built as BNSF 708 with a Santa Fe cigar band on the nose in 1997 after the merger.

I appreciate the pedantry, but I never said it was a "Santa Fe Unit"... just that it was in Santa Fe Paint (i.e. not a BNSF Warbonnet). I'm not sure the BN style station sign is pre-merger either, yet they both still exist 30 years after the merger. I'll bet your loads of fun at parties.

Actually was a BNSF Warbonnet. Note the BNSF block lettering on the conductors side of the locomotive which is how it was delivered.
