A good example of the mixed equipment you would see in the early Amtrak years.

UP coaches appear to have UP roadname painted over.

Nice photo Bob. The locomotive is an E7 not an F.

This photo has been modified using AI software; it appears to have been upscaled badly from a low-resolution scan. This is why the details make no sense: letters with inconsistent width that look almost peeling, distorted faces (see horrific girl beneath "OHIO"), deformed hands (see couple to the right), and many other problems. I do not believe that such photos should be allowed on this site; I would rather see low-res scans than such grotesque AI "hallucinations".

I agree that this photo looks like it has been processed with some sort of AI software that has created artifacts. The trussed part of he signal bridge looks weird, as does the lettering on the side of the locomotive. However, the woman in the red dress with white stripes may be using her right hand to shield her eyes from the sun.

I agree, just look at the insane yellow passenger cars. Why can't people think and write and create by themselves these days? Is it too much work? Why do they think artificial is superior? Train photography is real photography, creative and imaginative and it's real, it captures reality and it's so interesting and powerful and refreshing. Who wants a boring computer product that isn't real?

Ok, this was a Kodachrome scan, not small scan.. My mistake is I ran through topaz, by mistake I not only did the noise reduction but face recognition which I will not do again.
However, the cars are yellow and the photo with unfortunate artifacts is basically correct. I am processing a lot of photos as I am on lifetime time frame. I apologize for artifacts.
I have uploaded a replacement photo and tried to change loco to E7. Very sorry.

Thank you Robert, that explains it. I apologize for the rather aggressive tone of my original comment; I was just startled to see this sort of thing on RP.net. You are doing wonderful work in uploading so many historic photos, some of which I have greatly enjoyed. I wish you all the best!
