Granted that I wasn’t around at the time, but was it really that cold in Chicago during August 1975?

My father was a truck driver. He drove a 85 Mack superliner, and when I was little about 5 or 6 in the late 1980's we'd go to Beatrice foods once per week. I think all these tracks were gone by then but some of the buildings remained. The things that I remember seeing, but not knowing where they were when we'd go places, and most of those places have been raised.

It can't be August and why would L&N be running passenger trains in 1975?

OK, we can all assume the date is wrong, probably 10-12 years, and 6 months off. But great picture of a world long gone regardless! Thanks for posting
