I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up not that far from Jonesville, in upper Spartanburg County a few miles from the W Line. Thanks for sharing the picture and the story.

Interesting thought of being out railfanning, but having the authority to send a rough looking unit to the shop! Thanks for posting this, and thoughts and prayers for you and your family over the loss of your dad

Wonderful memories, am glad you shared them, am sorry your dad is gone now. As much as you tell about him here it shows how so very much he meant, and still means, to you.

First class kinda guy. To bad he was'nt our present. Always remember that they keep a eye on us from above and stop bye for a visit in our dreams. Loved ones are always missed so love them while there here. Your memories will last a long time. Just remember trains and dads go together just like applepieicecremecoffee. Thank you Scott. I'm sure your pappy loved you very much.

Best wishes on a long life to be repeated! As far as the picture, this would be southbound on Main 1 (A&WP Main) former Central of Georgia at Oakland Jct standing at the A&WP Belt Line (out of sight behind & to the right). Main 1 & 2 were moved to the right later to make room for Marta's elevated North/South route. 133 is also ex CG.

What beano said. And such an endearing image to accompany your reminiscence - that bespeaks of how memories, even distant, are right here with us through time. Godbless.
