When a B-unit the size of a DD35 looks small, you're dealing with some big power. Kind of wild to think that some UP employees ran steam, diesel and gas turbine motive power. And a mechanic could claim experience with all three types of power as well! Cool stuff.

Experienced one in 1965 , Evanston , Wyoming , I was 13 . It was stopped across from the Depot and accelerated Westbound . It sounded like a Commercial Airliner Throttling Up for takeoff . I had no idea what I was experiencing at the time , it wasn't until many years later that I put Two and Two together and realized it was a Big Blow . Locomotive up front , a Very Noisy " Box Car " second , and a Fuel Tender last
