Yes, they call St. George bound trains "westbound," even though St. George is east of Tottenville, because the "Staten Island Rapid Transit Railway Company" *main line* took into account the North Shore Line from St. George to Arlington. That line may have lost passenger service in 1953, but it was no "branch," which I'll remind anyone of every time they call it a "branch."
