This is the Mormon Rocks area, named by Mormon settlers, moving to the Los Angeles Basin from Salt Lake City, Utah during the 1850s. I seriously doubt that many Cajuns, usually found in Louisiana - thousands of miles from here - have been to these rocks. I've found no reference to much of anything being named for Cajuns this far west, other than perhaps a restaurants. But as this part of California used to be part of México, and this was once considered a box canyon, the Spaniards named it "Cajon," Spanish for "Box." And it is pronounced "Ka-hone," for those who are unsure of how the letter "J" is pronounced "en Español."
