I thank you for all of the beautiful photographs of this very interesting rail line. In the recent past, I read a book titled "The Mauritanian". It was a story of a Mauritanian citizen caught up in the war on terror. It was eventually made into a movie starring the actress Jodie Foster. The actor who portrayed the Mauritanian escapes me but, it was worthy of a Oscar award. Being a railfan, I went to Google maps and looked up Mauritania and any railroads it had. I came across this railroad across endless miles of desert. It made me wonder about it and what it looked like and why it was there. And now I know, thanks to your photos.
