I find it interesting that this unit makes at least 4 Conrail heritage units, at least that I’m aware of. I don’t think any other “fallen flag” has that many HU’s? Yet arguably the most famous railroad ever, the ATSF has exactly 0…

@Bradley: While I don't disagree that Santa Fe deserves a real heritage unit, at least there are still a handful of original Santa Fe painted locomotives in service on BNSF. It has been many years since the last original Conrail blue units were repainted by NS and CSX.

Yes sir, I agree fully. Matter of fact, I’ve always thought it was interesting how quickly Conrail paint pretty much completely disappeared, especially considering it was divided up between two railroads. Thanks for posting the pics of the 40P. Couple of the best looking passenger units out there!
