I thought UP always referred to 844 as their "Living Legend". I am glad that a UP 4000 was restored, but the current steam program management seems to have forgotten 844 altogether. And can somebody PLEASE remove that hokey "Big Boy" graffiti on the smokebox? Everybody knows what it is and that reference was only chalked on an unpainted #4000 by an ALCO employee in 1941. Why not put a fake dual diamond stack on it too?? Yes, I am a purist for accuracy on restorations.
