I am surprised that the lines on the left have lights and barriers but there doesn't seem to be any protection for the track the train is on. Is this left to the traffic lights?

The track the train is on rarely gets used. Normally they only use it to turn passenger excursions on the wye but for some reason on this day they used it as a switching lead while switching an unusually long cut of inbounds from CSX. I assume the stoplight circuit has a sensor in it for when something hits that crossing
