I find it interesting to see photos of these giant graveyards of locomotives. At a glance it appears to be a waste of resources, yet on examination we see locomotives that are 20, 30, 40 or more years old, that have operated for years, seen overhauls and rebuilds followed my more operation. Locos that have run millions of miles over decades and more than returned their value to the railroad.
