It is important to note that the 614, while displayed with C&O Historical Society equipment, is not owned by the Society, and is not responsible for its upkeep.

This breaks my heart....This engine and N&W 1218 are the two steamers I wish would be restored. I was in the UK when 1218 was in service, so I never saw her live, but I chased 614 a few times and she is a very fast powerful 4-8-4, overall a much more capable performer than N&W 611, UP 844(4), etc.. IMHO. And in many respects the finest 4-8-4 produced for any railroad. Let the debate begin.... I believe Ross Rowland is still the owner of 614.

It's sad seeing this beauty sitting outdoors and rusting away like this.
