It's odd how the past blurs together. CN bought these in the 1970s and sold many in the 1990s. That's longer than the whole lives of many engines -- life expectancy has increased over time. It's longer with the original owner than the many engines that were sold in the 1980s on hitting 15 (many GP40s and SD45s, such as Conrail's).
