Even though I'm not a big fan of International Harvester tractors I gotta admit that old Farmall looks pretty nice against that backdrop of black smoke from that equally nice looking Shay!

McCormick Farmall tractors are known for longevity and durability. Lots of low gear lugging power, practically impossible to stall out, great exhaust stack sound, especially on the Model 300. You need to be adept to operate all the manual controls (clutch, throttle, PTO, torque amplifier brakes, manual steering) all while keeping in a straight line ahead, and watching behind your trailing accessories such as plows, mowers, rakes and hay balers. Kits are available to convert to a wider stance front wheel set, providing better stability on hillsides. Sone famers today are reverting to older model tractors that are easier to fix (no computer chips, etc.).
