Dead SD45's and F(P)45's were very common. The V20 engine was notorious for breaking crankshafts. To much deformation along that long a crankshaft. The diameter of the EMD 645 crankshaft wasn't up to the task. That is why most got 645 v16's and converted SD40-2's. We all know those are still going strong.
