This was also the IC mainline between Chicago & St. Louis before the merger with the GM&O. Sometime after the merger the line was abandoned south of Farmersville to St. Louis. From Springfield north the line is all welded rail and has operating CTC lights all the way to Gilman.
Notice the difference between the airhorns on 9616 & 9610.
